Creamy Cookie Dip

This cookie dip is like a much easier (and richer) way to mash up Zebra cakes and enjoy a sweet snack. I love cake pops, so I knew I’d like these! Plus, when the Christmas Tree cakes dip became so popular I wanted to recreate Zebra cakes as a dip too.

Kitchen Tools You’ll Need

You can make this recipe with a wooden spoon and a bowl, but it will be a lot more work. I suggest using some kind of electric mixer. Of course, a Kitchen Aid stand mixer is the best one ever, but even a hand-held electric mixer will do just fine!

How-To Video

This is a pretty easy recipe to make – but if you are a visual learner, I have a really short video showing you how to make it!

Use Nilla Wafers

What do you use to dip into the cookie dip? I used Nilla wafers. They have a mild flavor and are strong enough to hold the dip. Another option that would taste delicious would be graham crackers.

What’s In Zebra Cakes Cookie Dip

The entire recipe is in the printable recipe card at the bottom of this post.

I used just a few easy ingredients to make this dip. It’s the same ingredients you will use to make cream cheese frosting.

  • Powdered Sugar
  • Butter
  • Milk
  • Cream Cheese
  • Zebra Cakes

I also used Magic Shell chocolate ice cream topping. This is what makes it look (and taste) like Zebra cakes.

Where To Buy Zebra Cakes

You can usually find Zebra cakes at your local grocery store or even Walmart. I prefer to shop online and you can buy a multipack on Zebra cakes on Amazon.

How To Make Cookie Dip With Zebra Cakes

This is such an easy recipe that you can whip it up in just a few minutes! All of the steps – along with the ingredients – are in the printable recipe card at the bottom of this post.

Here are some step-by-step pictures of the process too!

First, let your cream cheese sit out for a few minutes first. This will make it easier to mix.

Next, cream it together with the butter. This is why an electric mixer is so helpful, it speeds up the entire process and makes it really smooth. Add some milk to the bowl and mix that up too.

Add the powdered sugar and mix that up really well. Then, add some crumbled Zebra cakes on top. The more cakes that you add to the bowl, the thicker the dip will be.

The final step is to add some Magic Shell chocolate topping to the dip. Yum!

Can You Use Chocolate Syrup Instead Of Magic Shell?

This depends on whether you want it to really feel and taste like a Zebra cake. When you bite into a Zebra cake, the outer shell has a crispier texture than the cake on the inside. I mimicked that with the Magic Shell topping.

If that texture isn’t important to you, then you can certainly use chocolate syrup instead, or just leave it out.

How To Store Cookie Dip With Cream Cheese

Since this has cream cheese in it, you need to keep it in an airtight container in the refrigerator. It will last about 5 days in the fridge.
