When the Bough Breaks - Chapter 2 - Leenden (2024)

Chapter Text

Back at the doctors on the following Friday, Moxxie lay back on the table nervously as the doctor probed him with the ultrasound wand. Millie was leaning full on the examination table, her small breast nearly smashed into Moxxie’s face, which was actually helping with the anxiety.

“You see that?” Dr. Bordumb asked, circling something on the monitor with a light-pen.

“That little thing right there?” Millie said, indicating the small black dot amidst the ocean of white.

“Yep, that’s your baby right there. It’s attached to the faux-uterus wall and has begun to take in nutrients. Congratulations you two, you’re going to be parents.” Dr. Bordumb said.

“Oh my goodness, Moxxie, did you hear that?” Millie said, pressing her face tightly to his as they kissed.

While they celebrated, the doctor folded back the towel and giving Moxxie’s tummy a wipe down, before cleaning up his equipment.

He said, “You can put yourself back together, son and then we have some more things to discuss.”

“Like what?” Moxxie said, not bothering to tuck his shirt in, they were heading home after the appointment anyway.

Doctor Bordumb ignored the question for a long moment as he washed and dried his hands. He collected his clipboard and sat down on his wheeled stool, flipping through the pages.

“First of all, formula feeding or do you want to breastfeed?” Dr. Bordumb asked.

“Breastfeeding is supposed to be the better course, Mox.” Millie whispered. “Ma breast fed all of us and we’re built like friggin’ oxen.”

“Your wife is right, there are added benefits to breastfeeding, but the choice is ultimately up to you.” The doctor said, folding back the pages once he found the one he was looking for.

“Yeah, but I can’t really make…you know,” Moxxie said, gesturing to his chest.

“That’s not entirely true. We have a procedure that will allow your body to break down enzymes and turn it into nutrient rich milk for your baby.” Dr. Bordumb said.

“Really?” Moxxie and Millie said at the same time.

“Yeah, it’s an easy and safe procedure. I can put it together for you before you leave.” Dr. Bordumb’s wrinkly lips pulled back in a craggy smile.

“I don’t know,” Moxxie said, looking to Millie for guidance.

“You should do it. It’s cheaper and ultimately more healthy for the baby and…” Millie bit her bottom lip, trapping the thought before it escaped.

Moxxie waited for her to finish the thought, but when she didn’t, he turned back to the doctor with a lazy smile. “We’ll do it, doctor.”

“Alright, take your shirt off and get laid back for me while I gather the appropriate equipment.” Dr. Bordumb said, heading out through the sliding door at the back of the office.

“This is so exciting, Mox,” Millie said, stepping up on the foot rest to help him undo his buttons for him.

“Yeah, but I’ll have breasts and they’ll be milking everywhere and…” Moxxie complained until he saw the darkening of Millie’s cheeks, the subtle hitch in her breathing. “Oh my crumb, you’re into this?”

Millie smiled sheepishly, “Maybe.”

Moxxie laughed, “You gonna help milk me, little lady?”

Millie giggled, “Don’t tease me.”

“Oh you know you like it,” Moxxie said, making a soft throat noise when he felt Millie press her crotch to his knees. “Damn, you really do like it.”

“I’ll show you just how much, when we get home,” Millie whispered against his neck before giving it a little nip.

The door opened and Doctor Bordumb came in with a cart of supplies and a nurse to assist him. “Alright, we’re going to give you a couple of shots to numb the area and then we’ll do the procedure.”

“Is it safe for the baby?” Moxxie asked.

“Perfectly. Now don’t you worry one bit. This’ll be over quickly and then you’ll be on your way.” The doctor said, a withered smile on his face.

That night, in the comfort of their apartment, Moxxie was lounging on the couch reading through the paperwork the doctor gave them before they left. It was the only thing he could think to do to ignore the tenderness in his chest.

The subtle lifted mounds of his breasts felt swollen but that was just the added material inside. He’d asked what the procedure entailed, but quickly lost his nerve when they started talking about injecting tissue from a donor body. It wasn’t something he wanted to think of.

“Hmm?” Moxxie said, drawing Millie from the kitchen, the smell of hamburgers following her.

“What is it, hon? Are you alright?”

“Yeah, I was just reading this. It says here that I don’t have to change anything from my diet in the first trimester. As long as I take my pill and my prenatal vitamin, the process should move forward without a problem.” Moxxie paraphrased. “But after that I’ll have to purchase a breast pump and start milking myself one to two times a day. Though they recommended three times a day just to get things moving.”

“Sounds sexy,” she purred and played with his hair.

“Down kitty.” Moxxie giggled, “But seriously, it makes me nervous because if I miss too many pumpings, the sacks can be absorbed into my body and that means no breastfeeding.”

“You have nothing to worry about, hon,” Millie kissed his cheek. “There’s no way I’ll let you forget to pump.”

A blush traced Moxxie’s cheeks as he looked at her. She ran a finger under his chin, lifting his lips to hers as they kissed.

“I sure do love you, Millie.”

“As I do you, mama Moxxie,” she teased before heading back into the kitchen, leaving Moxxie to enjoy the view.

There was a knock at the door, which brought Moxxie up from the couch to answer it. A loud party blower exploded as Blitz pushed his way through the door into the living room. His arms were full of luggage. Even Loona, who was following a few steps back, was carrying her own duffel bag.

“Oh, Moxxie, you shouldn’t be up and around in your condition,” Blitz said, dropping his bags and sweeping the smaller imp off his feet, depositing him on the couch.

“Actually, sir, it's really good for me to walk around. It helps condition my body for the changes that are coming.” Moxxie said, grunting as Blitz tucked him in, only for him to untuck himself. “Sir-”

“Call me, Blitz, hon.”

“Blitz, what are you doing here and why is she here?” Moxxie said, gesturing to Loona.

“We’re gonna be roommates with you for the next six to nine months.” Blitz said, stacking their bags against the wall and out from the middle of the floor.

“What? Why?” Moxxie cried out.

“Because you’re pregnant, Moxxie. You’re going to need all the tender, love, and care we can offer.” Blitz said. “Think about it, what if you need something?”

“I have Millie.”

“Yeah, but what if you are having cravings?”

“I have Millie,” Moxxie reiterated.

“Okay, what if you need something and are having cravings at the same time?” Blitz asked.

“I’m sure Millie can do both.” Moxxie growled.

“Okay okay, what if…you need something, are having cravings, need a hoof rub, a backrub, help to the bathroom, and are being attacked by an intruder who thinks it’s ‘unnatural’ for men to carry babies because that’s women’s work – that’s them saying it, not me because I think it’s beautiful.” Blitz rambled off.

Moxxie stuttered, his head shaking slowly, “When the f*ck would that even happen, sir?”

“You don’t know and neither do I. This is Hell, Mox, any kinda anti-feminist transphobe with mommy issues, who’s not writing kid’s books, could be around the corner waiting to gut you for making the right decision by Millie by bringing my nephew into the world.” Blitz explained himself, unzipping his large suitcase before starting to dispense all his little horsey statues around the room.

“I can’t believe I’m hearing this. This is insanity,” Moxxie groaned.

“Mox, now calm down.” Millie said, coming into the room with a pair of plates in her hands. “Just let them stay for a bit, they’ll get tired of it, when they find out there’s no fun to be had.”

Moxxie took a deep breath, composing himself. “You’re right as always, my little hellion dove.”

“Just trying to do right by my man,” She said, handing him one of the plates. “Now eat up and enjoy yourself.”

Blitz stepped up and helped himself to the other plate before passing it off to Loona, who looked up from her phone long enough to take the plate.

“Looks good,” she murmured

“Thanks, Mills. Do you happen to have another one for me?” He blinked his wide catlike eyes, a soft rhythmic purring erupting from his throat.

Millie narrowed her eyes and sighed, “Yep, just give me another ten minutes or so.”

As she walked into the kitchen, Moxxie could hear her repeat herself about riding out the storm. They’d get tired of it eventually and then everything could go back to normal.
