The V-Stitch can be crocheted in a variety of different ways. Today I will share with you one way to make the V Stitch. This stitch is very popular for making crochet afghans, blankets, scarves and cowls. It works up quickly and uses only basic crochet stitches. This is a great stitch to try when you are new to crocheting. Practice the stitch with this simple dishcloth pattern and then use the stitch repeat to make a larger project of your choice!

Supplies
- Yarn:Bernat Handicrafter CottonMedium Weight Yarn [4]. Sample uses Cotton Stripes in color Country.
- Hook: 5.5 mm (I) and a5 mm (H) Orange Osage Hookwasused for the 4 inch by 4 inch square.
- Scissors, Yarn Needle, Stitch Marker (optional)

V Stitch Dishcloth Pattern Instructions
Size: 6 Inches by 6 Inches
R1: Ch 20, begin in back bump of 4th ch (the sk 3 chs count as 1 dc) from the hook and work 2 dc in the ch, sk 1 ch, *2 dc in the next ch, sk 1 ch**. Rep from * to ** across to the last ch. 1 dc in the last ch. Turn. [18]
R2: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), sk the next dc. Work 2 dc in the sp between the sk dc and the next dc. *Sk the next 2 dc; 2 dc in the sp between the last sk dc and the next dc**. Rep from * to ** across to the final 2 sts. Sk 1 dc and work 1 dc in the top of the ch 3. Turn. [18]
R3-R11: Rep R2. Continue to optional edging (if you wish).

R2: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), sk the next dc. Work 2 dc in the sp between the sk dc and the next dc. *Sk the next 2 dc; 2 dc in the sp between the last sk dc and the next dc**. Rep from * to ** across to the final 2 sts. Sk 1 dc and work 1 dc in the top of the ch 3. Turn. [10]
R3-R6: Rep R2. Continue to optional edging (if you wish).
Optional Edging
Work 1 sc in each st and each row end and in each corner work: 1 sc, ch 1, 1 sc. Finish off with an invisible join and weave in ends.
