4. PREHEAT grill to medium-high. Shape meat mixture into 12 balls and flatten into thick mini-burgers. Season with salt. Grill patties 4 to 8 minutes, turning once, until thermometer inserted registers 160°F.

4. PUT bun bottoms on serving plate. Top each with a burger and a tomato slice. Dab evenly with remaining 1 tablespoon pesto. Top with other halves of buns.
